Sooo…. You’ve seen the Glastonbury 2025 Lineup and some bangers stand out… but as always you’re always scratching your head as to who some of the other acts are? Maybe there is a new favourite band or unmissable classic? Time to see if GenAI can help us music lovers unearth the gems.

Glastonbury released their initial lineup on 6th March 2025.
Glastonbury kindly gave a text list of all the artist names. (see link above)
Show/Hide a screencap of the text

I’ve taken the above text list of artists and crafted a simple query that should spit out some interesting info as a quick summary. I did it day by day: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
So we can compare the results I have run roughly the same questions by a whole bunch of GenAI tools:
- ChatGPT 4.5 with Search
- ChatGPT o3-mini-high with Search
- ChatGPT o3-mini with Search
- ChatGPT 4o with Search
- Claude Sonnet 3.7 without Search (not offered yet)
- DeepThink R1 with Search
- DeepSeek with Search
- Grok3 R1 with DeepSearch
- Perplexity Basic
I did one-shot for almost all. The exception was Gemini which I gave a second attempt (second-shot?) because the output was obviously borked. No LLMs obey their platform instructions every time. It is okay to me if the POH just has to click re-run because the output is clearly wrong. The effort occurs when the POH has to check the results closely.
The analysis and commentary is in this follow up post
When you dive in, click on the ‘Click to Show/Hide Results’ dropdown. The Results are too tall to include straight in the page, you’d be scrolling forever. Same goes for the Prompt, it’s there just not shown until you want it.

I’ve created a comprehensive table with information about all the artists you mentioned. The table includes their musical genres, when they launched their careers, countries of origin, notable works, instruments used, and brief descriptions that capture their essence.
Some notes on the information:
-
For newer artists like Royel Otis or Shaboozey, the information reflects what was known up to my cutoff date.
-
For long-standing acts like Rod Stewart or The Selecter, I’ve focused on their most defining characteristics and works.
-
Some bands like The Maccabees had disbanded prior to my knowledge cutoff but might have reunited for this festival.
Would you like me to focus on any particular aspect of these artists or provide more detailed information about specific ones?
